Acronis is International Software Development Company with 16 offices worldwide, about 750 internal employees and many highly involved outsourcing companies. Being leader of completely new team rebuilt IT almost from scratch for these three years.Dozens of different systems and technologies were implemented acting as a technical specialist and architect and even more revised. Two big virtualization farms for development and production systems with self-service support were built as well as new redundant Storage Area Network holding different storage arrays from NetApp, EMC, Fujitsu, Promise, Petastor and other vendors using fiber channel and different storage protocols over Ethernet. Rebuilt local network to increase availability, power distribution scheme in server rooms were completely changed. Many other big technical projects were successfully completed.Many big projects were completed in a role of manager and technical consultant. Acting manager global service desk team was built from scratch including metrics, processes, motivation, reporting, etc. showing outstanding results. Implemented many cost saving and contact avoidance initiatives inside and outside service desk saving hundreds of thousands dollars for company every year. Two optimized budgets were created for RnD and IT collaborating with most of the teams. Prices for almost all IT supplies were significantly reduced by negotiating with vendors and revising required equipment. New hardware architecture was created for Acronis Online Backup datacenter providing major improvements in reliability as well as cost savings.
