Conducted wet lab research on triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells understanding its mechanism and elucidating its relationship with transcription factor, Kaiso.Analyze and conduct in vitro research on the relationship between TNBC, and epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) in relation to TNBC chemotherapy drug resistance attributed to a transcription factor, Kaiso.Conducted experiments like gel electrophoresis and Western blotting in the lab under the supervision of a graduate student.Collaborated with team members in developing hypothesis and research question, as well as analyzing research findings on disparities of TNBC in Women of African Ancestry.

Organize, and lead weekly tutorials for 20 2nd year Honours Life Sciences students; facilitating classroom discussions and activities to engage students in exploring various aspects of science communication. Provided support to students in understanding course material through; one-on-one meetings offering guidance on assignments, projects, and presentations.

In BAPMAC we aim to diversify the Canadian healthcare space by increasing the representation of Black physicians and allied health professionals. My team members and I support, empower, and advocate on behalf of healthcare aspiring Black undergraduate students at McMaster University providing them with unique opportunities and further bridging the gap.

Train and coordinate over 70 mentors to advocate, listen, advise, and empathize with mentees on personal challenges faced with transitioning from high school to university. Improves black students’ self-esteem and academic performance by strengthening awareness of resources, scholarships across McMaster. sustaining & strengthening relationships with professors and McMaster University staff.

Advising and sharing my experiences with my mentees to help them navigate academia as Black students.Ensuring the creation of a safe space for relationship building black students, fostering a sense of belonging within the wider McMaster community.

Coordinate with 25 mentors to provide the best quality academic support, and motivation to grade 11 & 12 black high school students across Hamilton. Actively support mentees in reaching their academic and personal goals while instilling Afrocentric themes in them through targeted concepts workshops.
