I have a very strong and unique blend of healthcare and technology experience that helps bridge many gaps in the healthcare information technology field. I have over 23 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, received through the State of Iowa, and have over 33 years of Information Technology experience. As the Technical Services Director, I lead and direct teams who are responsible for the execution of IT projects and daily operations related to network, server and desktop administration at ICE clients, hospitals and clinics throughout the nation. My teams and I ensure that IT infrastructure is highly available and performing optimally in a wide variety of computer hardware and software for ICE clients. I have worked on several Objective Software Selection projects and have working knowledge of clinical workflows. I have worked with several Electronic Medical Records including Practice Partner, Athena, Allscripts, Meditech and McKesson. I have also served as an Interim IT Operations Manager for multiple ICE clients over the years. My deep technical knowledge coupled with my nursing experience and training makes for a uniquely well rounded understanding of all things Health IT.Prior to joining ICE Technologies in 2007, I was the Director of Information Technology at AIB College of Business in Des Moines, IA among other technical positions at AIB and other organizations. I was also a fire/medic for 18 years for the city of Urbandale, IA, and was a Level III nurse at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines for five years. At Broadlawns Medical Center I worked as a nurse in the ER, Primary Care Clinic as well as the Adult and Adolescent Psychology units.
