I live my life in America's gas stations. Since 2011, I've written the Gas Station Gourmet column for NACS Magazine, I specialize in telling the story of America's independent convenience stores—especially those with unique foodservice. I'm a news producer and reporter by trade, and I'm a frequent speaker at industry events. The Gas Station Gourmet was created in 2007. I walked into a gas station that smelled like grandma's kitchen on a Sunday afternoon, and I was hooked. Since then, I've promoted the fact that many of America's best meals are found inside convenience stores. My analyses and stories have been featured in The Washington Post, Business Insider, Atlas Obscura, and multiple radio shows and podcasts. As co-host of the In-Convenience Podcast, I've spent dozens of hours interviewing industry leaders. I've also spent hundreds of hours speaking to retailers for my work with NACS Magazine. I share these insights in presentations at events like the NACS Show and Convenience Retailing University, inspiring operators to "think differently" and differentiate their brands. My passion is speaking to the needs of single-store operators and small chains. When I'm not enjoying fried chicken at a local convenience store, I'm the entertainment reporter for NEWS 15 KADN in Lafayette, LA.
