I manage the team working on scaling and growth hacking application monitoring scenarios in Azure. To deliver on that my team works on three areas:1. Technology to enable application monitoring on one server automatically.2. Azure integrations to deliver this technology on multiple servers at once and enable monitoring in the whole Azure.3. BI pipeline and dashboards to track the success, customer usage and where to invest next.The details are below.1. Agents for .NET, .NET Core and Java applications.Such agents can enable monitoring without changing application code on one server. This is the heart of scaling technology. Agents are shared with multiple APM vendors as Open Source as part of Open Telemetry initiatiave.2. Azure Extensions for supporting "turn-key" application monitoring: Azure App Services, Azure VMs, providing infrastructure and solution for Azure Kubernetes.This is the delivery and configuration mechanism for the agents capable of monitoring applications. Azure Extensions enable application monitoring across the fleet of servers. End goal for each Azure Extension: have application monitoring enabled by default, as part of Azure offering.When possible we use existing extensions model for particular Azure Compute environment. When such model doesn't exist - we design the integration built into Azure Compute environment itself. 3. Business Intelligence pipeline aggregating APM usage data and Azure account profiles.BI dashboards for APM offering to track usage spikes, drops and research engagement areas with high potential. This is how we learn how successful we are, what customers require attention and follow up.

Tech lead in Digital Ink for Surface Hub product.Worked with teams across Windows organizations delivered critical experience of multiple people brainstorming over Whiteboard using multiple pens at the same time.Made changes in Windows Input Stack to support simultaneous input from multiple pen. Created XAML control supporting that experience, so that Office team could create Whiteboard version of OneNote. This code is shipped part of Windows OS starting with Windows 10.Led a team of interns to create working prototype which allowed to ink/annotate over any surface in Windows.

Technical lead in Realtime Data Processing team for Microsoft Application Monitoring area (AppInsights in Visual Studio Online). Focusing on the design and infrastructure solutions for big data problems in low latency dashboards, alerting, management, anomaly detection - all combined with high availability.Suggested, designed and built the core for Storm.Net (.Net programming model for Storm/Kafka platform). This platform supports streaming scenarios which require guaranteed processing - such as ingest of incoming data to data storage, re-processing of backlog, etc.Continue to be technical lead in Orion - streaming platform for monitoring scenarios.

Suggested, co-authored the vision, co-designed the system, built the core and was technical lead for streaming platform for monitoring scenarios hosted in Azure PaaS - codename Orion.

Co-designed and developed several components in new version of Configuration Service (this service delivers data and code up to thousands agents per SCOM installation): delta sync process of distributed changes in the system; entity topology management, etc.; service code instrumentation. New version of the service drastically improved performance and scalability, while keeping platform backward compatible for existing extensions.Analyzed, designed and developed unified localization infrastructure for the product. Working with product and localization teams streamlined localization process (design guidelines, tool/build support, continuous development/localization/testing process).Updated agent/gateway/server installers to make them multi-language aware, making the upgrade process much less expensive (no need to make, test and deliver 55 localized installer updates for each upgrade session – only 5 are required now) and unlocking some key upgradable patterns for localized products.I represented development counter-part in regular security design reviews as a part of product security team. The main goal of the team – to make sure product overall is secure and complies with Security Development Lifecycle process.Gathered the team, co-analyzed, co-designed and co-developed and was driving the prototype for alternative UI for the product.Part of special dedicated product team for the next wave of the product. Collaborated with other product teams (Reactive Extensions, StreamInsight and Bing).

Analyzed, designed and implemented testing/monitoring infrastructure for IndexTracker (distributed extensible platform for automatic and manual analysis of Bing Index). Designed and implemented infrastructure to get critical metrics on Index Quality.Suggested, analyzed, designed, implemented LogMonitor - service in standard Autopilot infrastructure (Autopilot manages data centers of Bing, AdCenter) to monitor log files of deployed applications.Suggested, analyzed, designed and implemented Kirin Managed API: C++ CLI wrappers on C++ API, which allows working with distributed storage Kirin from .Net languages.Analyzed and designed distributed system for performance testing and analysis. Implemented backend core functionality.

Worked on many Modules (user site extensions), participated in system design (site deployment, communication between deployed sites and master system, support/improvement of modules core classes), worked on SiteBuilder SDK - analyzed, designed and implemented new verifiable cross-platform format of design templates.

Project manager: various Internet applications, among them a couple of significant such a form processing system for Health Department of large US city or a large loan processing system for several banks. Team was up to 5 people.Senior developer: 1. System for powerful code generation based on database schema. System for web-request mapping code similar to Asp.NET MVC (based on Reflection Emit).2. System for internal company management.

Starting on given requirements completed implementation of Asp.Net applications – from database schema to presentation layer (there were rather small applications). Often formalized requirements and estimated development by myself.
