Al Njoo has over 30yrs founder/executive experience spanning resources (oil, mining), finance, technology and impact investing. He is principal of Singapore-based Benchmark, a private investment group. His work in energy banking at JPMorgan-Chase and partner to Merrill Lynch (Indonesia) gave him a unique advantage in energy finance. He was co-founder of Calgary-based Nations Energy in the late 1990s which successfully developed E&P in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and California. The assets had an aggregate value of $4 billion. In technology, since 20yrs ago BMK has invested in sustainable/solar technologies. Glasspoint is a leader in solar enhanced oil recovery process. The group is transitioning toward renewables. The group has sponsored Asian scholars for their Phd program in cancer research at Hopkins-Baltimore for over 15ys. He was a founding shareholder of IXX an impact investment exchange with a focus on social entrepreneurship. He was ex-trustee of Give2Asia, San Francisco, and ex-board member of the first UBS Impact Fund.
