•Drilling Engineering support for the ongoing operations for Kurdistan Clients with supervision for the daily drilling operation for the land rigs.•Drilling planning operations and assisted with the tender technical and commercial preparations to enhance our Directional Drilling capability and equipment condition during the tendering activities.•Provided drilling engineering support for TAQA to plan 11 wells, vertical, S-Shape and Horizontal, for Jurassic and Triassic, achieved all required basis of well design, drilling engineering docs, and prepared for DWOP with their SDE included operation steps, risk register, lessons learnt and updated as required with actions and implemented in the next well drilling program.•Prepared 43 wells design for TAQA in 2020 for field development plan and all related drilling procedures and Directional Drilling BHA’s and Engineering Simulations, prepare 6 x wells types and related basis of well design, include extended horizontal well design and deep Triassic well design as exploration wells to drill 3 to 4 wells in 2021 and the rest on the next 5 years.•Drill the first Horizontal Crude oil well in kurdistan with Oryx successfully and prepare all the engineering support planning, executions, and evaluations.•Recently drill oil producer horizontal drain and manage to land the well successfully and steer it with in margin of 20 cm from the planned TVD for 600m.•Perform all sidetracks options open and cased hole from larger to smaller hole sizes successfully.•Drill and Engineered the first medium radius wells in DNO and managed to get up to 29 deg/30m and horizontally drill 500m through the given reservoir.•Engineering design of directional and horizontal wells, daily monitoring of rigs activity, evaluation of performance with recommendation, prepared safe cost-effective well design, programs, and procedures to meet the target/objectives for exploration and development wells.
