And taking to social media and direct mail to build a loyal group of clients, including Harvey Galleries, Nina Maya Interiors, Hyundai, Clarke & Humel, Roche, WPP, Ogilvy, Luchettie Krelle and Curatorial+Co and achieving editorial exposure in Inside Out, Real Living, Australian House & Garden and Belle. During my tenure, I managed all homes content and entertaining pages: curating submissions, seeking out new leads, commissioning writers, photographers and videographers, working with the in-house team of stylists, sub editors, feature writers and designers to produce the most-read monthly homes title in Australia. I drove the augmented reality inclusions (viewa). I was responsible for executing the competitions we held, and worked hand-in-hand with the legal team and marketing department for selected H&G brand events and promotions. Annually I also produced the Top 50 Rooms editorial feature and awards event, one of our key properties that nurtured our relationship with key advertisers and stakeholders, leading architects and designers and showcased premium Australian design. As the Editor of Renovate magazine, I drove its rebranding. We devised a cleaner template that allowed the message to be delivered more effectively. Using my existing network of architect and design contacts, while also continuing to develop new relationships, I managed to increase the integrity of the magazine’s content – and elevated its profile in the market. I was a contract project editor at Phaidon Press – working on a super-sized book on graphic design. It was an exciting, challenging project where I was brought on to reinvigorate a team on a project that had lost momentum. I was responsible for scheduling and tracking the progress of the book, and successfully managed a team of seven full time staff plus contractors towards the goal of completion.

My role as the Editor of Design Quarterly [DQ] magazine involved scoping out the Australian design industry and communicating the key developments and news with professionals in the field. I was responsible for the planning, production and proof reading of all content, as well as maintaining strong relationships with our key stakeholders – readers, contributors and advertisers. Whilst there, I drove the re-branding of Design Quarterly, working closely with an external graphic design studio to establish a unique creative direction (including the stronger visual tone, matte paper stock, creative layout and dynamic mast head).
