Responsible for the overall management of the Ministry’s highway maintenance responsibilities in the continued preservation and operational viability of the Provincial Highway system by establishing policies, standards, and procedures and providing functional direction in the areas of maintenance operations, special maintenance services, and vegetative management. Worked closely with the regional Operations Offices, stakeholders and Highway Maintenance Contractors to provide the travelling public with the safest roads in Ontario.Major accomplishments include: implementing the response to the Auditor General of Ontario's 2015 Special Report on Winter Highway Maintenance, completing a full review of highway maintenance contracts, developing and implementation two new and more collaborative delivery models, and leading the response to the collapse of Carillion Canada in January 2018 (responsible for 40% of MTO highways).Built and empowered a renewed team through organizational structure changes to ensure sustainability and accountability.
