The New Fiscal Relations Secretariat, for which I am responsible, was created to deliver on one of the commitments of the mandate letter of the Minister of INAC. Specifically, the Minister will work with the Minister of Finance to establish a new fiscal relationship that lifts the 2% cap on annual funding increases and moves towards sufficient, predictable and sustained funding for First Nations communities.With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) on July 13th 2017, it is the Chief Finances, Results and Delivery Officer (CFEDO) of INAC that is heading the Government of Canada efforts to meet our goals. This initiative saw the creation of a New Fiscal Relations Secretariat and as the director, reporting to the CFEDO, I am responsible for managing the coordinated efforts forward, liaising with 3 sectorial Director General and their staff who head working groups on developing options for addressing SUFFICIENCY and PREDICTABILITY OF FUNDING and developing a model for MUTUAL ACCOUNTABILITY between First Nations, their citizens and Canada.The approach adopted is a "whole of government" approach to the process. This means that each working group includes representatives from across INAC, other federal departments and the Central Agencies as well as subject matter experts and representatives from the Assembly of First Nations.

• Directing the regional implementation of comprehensive land claims in Nunavut;• Provide advice to the Regional Director General (RDG) and senior management in the NAO and TAG sectors;• Support and liaison to claims and the advancement of public governance in Nunavut;• Develop Strategies and policies to advance claims implantation agreements;• Develop and maintain relationships both internally and externally to ensure issues are dealt with effectively and within the departmental vision for the North;• Represent the department’s policies on claims, socio-economic areas such as community development and economic development;• Provide advisory and representation service on issues to AANDC senior management and the Minister, and for developing communications and public information strategies related to claims.Accountable for the effective management of a team of 15 staff with an annual O&M budget of $ 2.8 million (including salaries) and an annual G&C budget of $ 3 million.

Through the Government of Canada INTERCHANGE Program I was fortunate enough to experience the private sector as the Vice President responsible for Business Development in a very special Technology firm.BlueBear LES (www.bb-les.ca) is a private Canadian company focused on solutions in the fight against Child Exploitation. Its objective is to design and develop software that gives law enforcement and justice communities the solutions they need to do their jobs effectively, efficiently and successfully.BlueBear’s technology was created because of demand from Law Enforcement agencies for forensic tools that would automate and assist in the expedient processing of trial cases. With this in mind, BlueBear provides a suite of tools for use by Law Enforcement specific to online Child Exploitation cases and the identification of individuals associated with these and other cases.

From 1999 to 2001 I was honored to be elected as one of 10 city councilors for the last City Council of Hull before the mergers imposed by the provincial government. As the youngest councilor of the city, I was chosen for the following committees and functions:- President of the city's Youth Commission;- Vice-President of the city's Urban Development Committee- President of the city's Demolition Committee- Member of the Regional Economic Development Agency- Member representing the city to the Chamber of Commerce- Member representing the city on the Board of directors of the Eco-Museum of Hull
