Develop music therapy sessions to expose students to music in a safe environment. Cater all learning activities to students and their needs. Each session is approximately 45 minutes with anywhere from 3 to 6 students. Movement, Instruments and social skills are all major components to lesson structure.

Taught in heavily Orff based district. Developed and implemented Orff lessons as well as integrate Kodaly melodic concepts into Orff Curriculum. Was responsible for leading a girls chorus of 85 girls ('11-12, '12-'13) and 4th and 5th grade choruses of 65 student each ('13-'14) Chorus performed service concerts at local retirement center and performed at the Chicago Wolves ('12, '13). While the majority of the classes taught were general music classed K-5, Adaptive classes were also an integral part of professional responsibility. Developed modified, adapted and differentiated lessons at all levels to meet the individual needs of students. Created relevant visuals and very specific sequential instruction to teach music.In July 2012, Completed Level 1 towards certification in the Orff Schulwerk approach from Vandercook UniversityIn May 2013, completed course on Formative Assessment and how to best implement within the music classroom from Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Taught Elementary vocal and general music to grades k-5 at Komensky and Piper Elementary Schools. While in this position I served on the Safety Committee, the SIP comittee, and core committees. I planned, organized and directed a variety of music performances (Winter programs, Talent Show, Choir performances, Fine Arts Nights, etc) Participated in a 3 year arts integration grant with the Chicago Teachers Center; structured lessons around Lois Hetlund's 8 studio habits of learning. Served as a teacher leader in district technology initiative. Created podcasts and "How to" video and hand out tutorials for SMART technology, web 2.0, online gradebooks, etc. Dedicated to student success in all areas of student development- most specifically music mastery (reading traditional music notation, composition of original student songs, writing melody and rhythm, exploring various instruments from around the world, performance in both vocal and instrumental capacities and folk music/games relevant to the ethnic make-up of the students taught)

Taught swimming lessons year round at an indoor aquatics facility. Certified as a Water Safety Instructor in 2004. Appointed On Deck supervisor- responsible for managing swimming lessons and providing feedback to instructors on their teaching strategies. Lifeguarded with the pool year round. Served as head guard of the majority of shifts responsible for. Head guards managed the pool safety and provided feedback to other guards regarding work ethic, safety precautions and other pool regulations. Was appointed Aquatics Assistant in June 2004. The position was responsible for aquatics paperwork, organizing pool/ community events and for providing assistance to direct supervisor in any capacity deemed necessary.

Worked as a part time music teacher at this private pre-k- 8th grade school. Was responsible for implementing Kodaly lesson plans, assessing student work, communicating with parents and organizing school wide performances. Also provided private lessons to students on variety of musical instruments.

Developed understanding and application process for implementing Kodaly Curriculum into a general ed music classroom. Developed assessments tied to standards addressed in all of the common cores with a centralized focus on Music standards.
