I completed my 2nd internship summer at the Washington University School of Medicine. I studied the senescence of adipose tissue among different time cohorts in mice. I was able to further practice my lab skills, and also given the opportunity to mentor younger undergrad interns in the lab.

Through these tasks I was able to gain skills around communicating in a professional manner, multitasking, and various computer skills. I was a lab assistant that worked with post doctoral researchers studying diabetes and liver fibrosis. I would help complete a variety of lab procedures and assist researchers when needed. Throughout this, I was able to perform a small research experiment of my own and develop my lab skills further. This project was surrounding specific liver genes and providing data that helped with finding a cure to liver fibrosis. I was able to gain a variety of different lab techniques and skills.
