I've been doing various contract work through the company I founded, Ruby Miner LLC. I have developed technologies for social networking, content and multimedia management, "wiki" style collaboration, newsletter creation and distribution, integration into various popular APIs (Amazon EC2/FPS, Facebook Connect, Twitter, ConstantContact, Lighthouse to name a few), and e-commerce API (paypal, google checkout). While doing so, I utilized various project management tools such as Basecamp and PivotalTracker, and time-tracking software coupled with other invoicing software. At the same time, I hired other freelance contractors, and lead development and design teams, created project specifications, front-end wireframes, and UML diagrams.

Yammer is the leader in enterprise social networking, and a premier SaaS model. As part of the platform engineering team, I have developed and maintained several applications that reside on the Yammer platform.

Here I worked with the server team and web team maintaining our numerous web properties, Open Feint's Game Spotlight iPhone application, and developing their new RESTful cross-platform API.

It was full-time Ruby on Rails development that also ventured into unobtrusive Javascript and AJAX programming. We primarily worked with PostgreSQL Database and utilized Agile Programming methodologies throughout our process. We used Basecamp, and Wiikis for process documentation, Q&A and project management, and applied Test and Behavior Driven Development methodologies. One of the more interesting things I created was a custom AJAX Calendar with a variety of features such associated ranges, times, and calendar summarization. I also worked on creating a web-service layer that allowed users to interact with a web app via email and SMS

Ursa Minor is full-fledged media company that also has a web development branch. I was there full-time Rails developer, although I also developed in PHP and JavaScript when the project demanded it. I was responsible for numerous projects that I lead and developed. During my stay, I developed our own in-house CMS that we were able to reuse for a number of different sites. I also helped develop and rolled out a new pricing and sign-up process for their hosting department.

I was hired on a IT Administrator but soon found myself Director, interfacing with school directors, proposing budgets for differentproject and leading contractors. I also dealt with End-user support and computer troubleshooting. During the maintenance anddevelopment of our own custom Student Information System. I implemented a full AD schema, and a T-1 point-to-point network withthe satellite schools. I developed the website and also did data verification and process of student testing information that would beimported into the Student Information System.
