Leading Commonwealth Bank's Power, Renewables and Ressources finance practice for the Americas

Leading the origination and structuring of limited/non‐recourse, corporate loans and advisory/pre-arranging services in the Americas.

- Lead the origination and execution of structured and project financing arrangements of full, limited and non-recourse syndicated bank facilities (bridge, term and leveraged loans), debt capital markets issuance and structured trade facilities; - Team leader in financial advisory assignments (valuation, capital structuring, financial feasibility etc.);- Comprehensive experience in origination/execution from proposal preparation and client presentation to internal credit approval and risk review, covering enterprise valuation, due diligence, management of independent consultant/legal counsel, rating agency process and documentation negotiation;- Solid proficiency in developing and analysing complex cash flow models for valuation, financial analysis/projections and debt structuring purposes;- Strong portfolio and risk management skills, managing/monitoring >U$1.0 billion exposure of full/limited/non-recourse and commodities / ressources sectors.

- Origination / Execution: Key team member in the day to day origination and execution of project and structured transactions within the energy, infrastructure and telecom sectors in North and Latin America. Executed transactions comprise greenfield project financings, acquisition financings, restructurings and financial advisory assignments for both industrial and financial sponsors;- Managed Due Diligence Process & Client Relationships: Full scope of project finance due diligence, including marketing presentations, commercial negotiations, legal documentation and syndication;- Extensive Modelling Skills: Constructed and analyzed financial models to support origination process. Maintenance of the financial model supporting advisory/structuring mandates, including running scenarios and sensitivities. Interrogation of the financial model for participant lenders, including running of sensitivities and checking integrity;- Credit Process: Preparation of credit applications as well as credit committee papers and managing the internal credit process, through to post closing;- Portfolio Management: Managed and monitored a portfolio of >US$2.0 billion diversified across sectors and the Americas. Monitoring included proactive approach to marketing and credit developments;- Sectors Monitoring: Maintained a working knowledge of developments in all sector as well as current transactions and opportunities in the market;- Landmark Transactions: US$370 million Arlington Valley combined gas cycle (LS Power); US$160 million Cedro Hill wind farm (Edison Mission); US$1.6 billion I-595 toll road PPP (ACS Dragados); US$1.1 billion Deepdrill drillships (Dryships/Ocean Rig); US$590 million La Muralla III oil platform (Grupo R); US$3.4 billion FARAC toll road portfolio acquisition (Goldman Infra Fund / ICA) etc.

- Contributed to origination effort by providing Corporate and Municipalities financial analysis;- Assisted senior team member in the preparation and presentation of innovative structured products to prospective clients;- Financial modeling and sensitivies analysis;- Supported Senior Banker in structuring bank facilities;- Assisted portfolio management team in loan covenants onitoring;- Proactively monitored a portfolio of prospective clients seeking future opportunities for lending/advisory services.
