As Head of SAM, I am responsible to look after Special Assets Management Department that is dealing with Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) portfolio of Corporate, Commercial, SME and Consumer segments. This is uniquely mixed with cradle to grave delinquency management of Consumer segment.Managing a country wide team comprising over 130 people at different cadres.Provide a leadership role within department for resolution of NPLs / impaired credit portfolio through restructuring, negotiated settlements and litigation with a view toward recovering the profit suspended, & reversal of booked provisions.Liaison and representing the bank with syndicates/ creditor group, steering committees and other forums established for coordinated recovery action on NPLs.Execution of settlement through property/equity swap against debt in satisfaction of claimLiaise with State Bank of Pakistan for compliance and interact with external agencies for rapid recoveries.Support role to Human Resource in recoveries of Ex-Staff liabilities.Close Working relation with external & internal lawyers and external agencies i.e. Police, FIA etc for swift execution of auction process.Follow-up on a pro-active basis to ensure expeditious resolution of legal cases and quick filing of legal action.Co-ordinate with Real Estate Agents for expeditious foreclosure of mortgaged property.Implement effective control & monitoring mechanism in accordance to State Bank of Pakistan prudential regulation.Provide feedback to the credit policy department for emerging fraud trends and for better portfolio health.Successful completion of Internal & External Audits.

• Working closely with Lending Teams including Team Managers and Portfolio Officers to review and evaluate proposed new and renewal extensions of credit for commercial borrowers paying particular attention to the quality and analysis of the credit presented• Prepare transaction summaries for extensions of credit requiring approval by bank’s board of directors (Credit Committee)• Work as a resource and mentor to other Credit Administrators. As a mentor, the essential trait/quality expected is the willingness to share experience, impart wisdom and knowledge to others related to a variety of lending/credit/work-related situations• Provide guidance and leadership to new Credit Administrators to ensure they quickly become acclimated to the bank’s culture and the specific job function• Provide guidance on credit issues including proper structuring, early detection of problem loans to Business Lending Units (i.e. Business Development Officers, Relationship Officers, Portfolio Officers, etc.) and Credit Analysis Department; and provide direction/coaching to enhance the lending staffs’ knowledge of assessing credit risk, with the ultimate goal of protecting the interests of the bank• Provide ongoing support when required to assist with the documentation of complex loan transactions and/or perform quality control reviews of loan files and/or loan documents• Provide training and mentorship to junior staff within various Lending Teams• Skills/Ability: In-depth knowledge of commercial lending, with a focus on Consumer and Corporate Banking, and commercial real estate lending, with a focus on owner-occupied commercial property and residential mortgage products. Broad knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards applicable to commercial lending, commercial real estate and residential mortgage products..

Ensure overall smooth functioning and maintenance of shift for 24 X 7 hour operation environment for pro-active Authorizations and Risk Monitoring - under ambit of Customer Services.Ensure service level indicators of Authorizations at acceptable range in terms of authorization processing at BASE-I level, Blocking of cards and reversals of redundant transactionsEnsure service level indicators of Risk Monitoring at acceptable range in terms of monitoring of suspicious transactions to avoid fraud exposure.Structured 24 hours ATM monitoring team working 7 days a week to reduce overall ATM downtime and ensure regular ATM Service monitoring real-time.E-Commerce Risk Management- To identify the possible risks concerned and its actions to mitigate risks
