About Md. Alamgir Hossain (Akash)

Hi there! I am Md. Alamgir Hossain (Alamgir Chowdhury Akash) - and I am obsessed with all things about research and economics, Islamic finance, publication, non-profit volunteering, social activities, more specifically following my passion. Since August 2021, I've been a Research Fellow at Islamic Financial Service Board, where I have focused my time on research and projects in IFSB and IIUM. I graduated my master program in 2018 from Jagannath University, Bangladesh. Then I pursued my another Masters (MBA) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and currently pursuing my doctoral degree in IIUM with a major in Islamic Banking and Finance. I established and grew my passion for Islamic banking, finance and Islamic economics. Outside the classroom, I involved myself in social and volunteering activities. Currently, I'm the president of Bangladeshi Students' Union Malaysia (BSUM) where we represents almost 20,000 Bangladeshi Students in Malaysia. Apart from this, I'm the secretary general of Postgraduate Students Society( PGSS), IIUM where we represents more than 120 countries international postgraduate students in the university. Recently, I appointed as a head of research of first Malaysian financial inclusion committee called Financial Inclusion Youth Committee (FIYC). My volunteer experience in the different organization/Society allowed me to express my passion in collaboration and become a better party in the teamwork.
