As the QHSE Advisor I was responsible for the Health and Safety of all staff, Contractors and visitors across the Kimberly Clark site at Northfleet. Advising managers on all aspects of Health and Safety including advice in relation to relevant legislation, directives, codes of practice, policy matters etc.Assisting in the development, production and updating of guidance notes, policies, practices and procedures and ensure conformity with any specific requirementsCarrying out risk assessments and other assessments e.g. working at height assessments (WAH) - Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and give advice on appropriate action.Carrying out site inspections (safety audits) to ensure that Unipart are compliant with relevant legislation, council and departmental policies and procedures.Carrying out accident investigations and implement any changes that would be required.Carrying out safety induction training for new employees or visitors to site. Stop the job Safety briefings/presentations to all the shifts on site. Attending all safety site management meetings. Undertaking of monthly storage racking inspections.Evaluating, designing, developing and delivering appropriate training coursesLiaising, as appropriate, with contractors/clients/outside organisations e.g. Health and Safety ExecutiveAttending various departmental/corporate working groupsProducing written reports as appropriateMaintaining manual and computerised health and safety records including accident statistics.Responsible for the ordering and issuing of PPE.Undertaking daily hazard tours and the reporting and rectifying of any hazard or defect spotted.I was also a contact for the staff to communicate any Safety issues to senior management.

As one of two Health and Safety Managers, we were responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety at 40 Olympic venues accross the UK .The task that was expected of us and achieved was to deliver a safe London games.

West Thurrock

As the Health and Safety Officer I was responsible for the Health and Safety of 450 people across the Procter and Gamble site at west Thurrock. I led a team of 2 support staff. One was to assist with the administration side of Health and Safety and the other was to assist in the training side of Health and Safety.
