My name is Alan Chavez, and I am a senior at the Soules College of Business at UT Tyler. I am a very motivated individual who is expecting to graduate with a BBA in finance in May of 2025 with a 4.0 GPA, summa cum laude honors, and after only 3 years of undergraduate studies.Over the past 3 years, I have funded my education and expenses by working part-time as a server and in an internship position. Both roles have helped to develop my interpersonal skills by working with a team and building customer relationships. My professional and academic success through this period is a testament to my strong time management skills.By gaining an education in finance, I have built a passion for using my knowledge to provide advice to my peers as well as applying it to researching and analyzing personal investment decisions. My interest in analyzing financial data has elevated my skills in Excel to an advanced level, and I continue to enjoy using the software.I am a proud Tatum High School alumnus, where I graduated salutatorian of my class in 2022. During that time, I participated in a multitude of sports, and my competitive nature stems from that interest. Today, my interest in these sports continues, and I spend my free time improving on athletic activities. Golf, soccer, tennis, and running are what I currently enjoy outside of work and academics, but I also have an interest in motorsport and chess. An opportunity to earn a role where my abilities with financial analysis and interpersonal skills can be put to use is what I am aiming for. The sectors of private equity, wealth management, corporate finance, and startups are places that interest me and align with my skillset. I am certain that the skills I have developed over the years will be an asset to any team in these sectors, and I am ready to demonstrate that with my strong work ethic.
