Led the Biodiversity Team (12 staff, $15 M)) to deliver Biodiversity policy and planning outcomes specified in the BCC Biodiversity Strategy. Led the Natural Area Sub Program (5 Staff, $8 M) in developing policies, strategies and programs for the management and enhancement of the natural, cultural and recreational values of the City’s bushland conservation reserves. Led the Catchment and Waterway Planning Sub Program (11 Staff, $10M) in the achievement of integrated waterways management in the City

Manage the Environmental Management Unit, Defence Estate Organisation, NQ (2 staff, $ 1.5 M and consultants/contractors). Key duties:• Principal regional adviser to Senior Defence Officers regarding environmental management of Defence properties and activities in NQ• Active engagement with community groups, indigenous traditional owners and Government agencies through creation and management of Defences North QLD Regional Environmental Advisory Committee• Development and implementation of Environmental Audits, Impact Assessments and Environmental Management Plans for Defence facilities and properties in Northern Queensland (135 properties, total area approximately 350,000 ha)• Environmental management of natural and cultural resources of Defence facilities in North QLD• Project developer and manager for a major research project to develop a decision support system for sustainable use of military lands in the tropical savannas of north QLD• Liaison and training with Defence personnel to ensure the adoption of best practice environmental management
