Amassing first hand experience in various industry sectors including telecommunications, engineering and CRM. Having witnessed first hand the stress and anxiety that is becoming commonplace in rapidly evolving industry sectors, I recognised that businesses are losing significant amounts of resources through absence and attrition. The hidden costs in replacing staff losses can be significant due to the cost of recruitment, training and lost productivity whilst seeking replacement staff. Taking a hands-on approach within my own managerial positions, I realised that early intervention in the form of emotionally intelligent leadership can significantly reduce the risks and costs associated with attrition. This has the added benefit of improving workplace relations.After experiencing a significant personal loss, and consequently overcoming my own mental health struggle related to that, I recognised the urgent need for emotionally intelligent leadership.The hierarchical infrastructure commonplace in all industry sectors often results in a disconnect between the boardroom and the workforce. It becomes very easy to make decisions solely based on statistics without considering the human cost. By practicing emotionally intelligent leadership, management can build trust-based, long-term relationships with employees, increasing productivity, reducing attrition and generally improving morale across the company.Dragonfly Leadership was created to guide businesses in developing management leadership skills, with a view to improving long-term workforce relations thereby saving businesses financially in lost resources. I deliver tailored support based upon an initial conversation with the client to identify their needs and current level of leadership skill. Sessions are commonly delivered in the form of bespoke training, thematic workshops and remote webinars. In the current climate, programmes are being delivered online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however safe, socially distanced delivery is available, in-keeping with government guidelines.
