In this role I identified and implemented several major cost reductions in support of an agressive Company budget, by a blend of negotiation, redesign and resource activities.The savings were across a broad spectrum of engineered components.

The role required in depth studies of all exterior and interior trim components and assemblies to identify opportunities to remove cost through redesign, retooling and also resourcing.I worked very closely with my 2 TVM Design Engineer colleagues in respect of planning and implementing design changes to ensure timely introduction of the different projects.Key to the role was the frequent updating of the Purchasing Roadmap Excel database, adding fresh items and amending actions and dates as necessary.I identified a total of 24 significant cost reduction projects.

The role involved the purchase of all Suspension Arms and Links for the range of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.Cost reduction and New Product Introduction were the key elements - with the main new vehicle focus being the Jaguar X351 project.I benchmarked existing products and from this identified some considerable savings, which I implemented in full.

In this role I had purchase responsibility for a diverse range of components to support the manufacture of full assemblies at 2 sites, one in Kent and the other in Coventry.I was heavily involved in the introduction of the Jaguar XF saloon, managing late design changes and ensuring the programme cost targets were achieved.In addition I ran from a Purchasing perspective 2 important customer projects to take cost out of the Honda Civic instument panel and centre console assemblies, and and also a TVM project initiated by Jaguar Land Rover to identify ways of cost reduction on the assemblies Magna supplied to tem on projects already in production.

At KSR I managed a range of commodities, reviewing each area for cost reduction ideas, and implementing several savings, which gave significant benefits to the company's bottom line. New Product Introduction - purchasing responsibility for sourcing, prototypes and initial builds for the Jaguar XK8 sports car. Procurement and supply management of the sample components for the new Ford EUCD platfom (Land Rover, Ford and Volvo vehicles).
