Born and raised in El Paso TX. I started playing drums in middle school and continued through college. I started as a jazz player and later played Reggae as a touring musician. I played in the first Reggae band in DFW and later played for the Killer Bees, the first American Reggae band to play in Jamaica's Reggae Sunsplash festival. I have been braiding rawhide items for the past 20yrs or so. I am a recipient of a scholarship from the Traditional Cowboy Arts Association and I was mentored by Nate Wald a braider from Montana. I attended a braiders roundtable and got to meet and see the work of Argentine braiders Armando Deferrari and Pablo Lozano. I have been helped by Benton Cassaday, Duff Severe, Bryan Neubert, Gail Hought, Leland Hensley, and Sharon Paulin.I am a self taught saddle maker and have been helped and influenced by Steve Mecum, Dale Harwood, and Greg Gomersall. I use only custom made trees and Hermann Oak leather. My goal is to provide an American made product in the tradition of the greatest masters of this craft.I also raise and train Spanish Barb horses and that gives me the opportunity to use the gear I make. I have been using Natural Methods to train for the past 25 yrs now and have been helped and influenced by Jack Brainard, Tom Dorrance, Bryan Neubert and Joe Wolter. I worked for an Audio/Video/Lighting company Alford Media Services for almost 15 yrs. I was a Driver/Facilitator. I have past experience as a certified rigger and have worked as a Lighting designer and technician, Audio engineer, and have done some projector work as well. In total I have over 20yrs in this industry. I was elected to be the Secretary Treasure for IATSE Local 127 and am honored to serve my Brothers and Sisters. My current position is that of Assistant Stage Manager for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and I foresee this as the final career move in what can only be described as an Blessed Existence! It's been fun!
