During the last 20 years I have held General Manager and State Manager roles across a diverse range of industries as well as 3 years in Local Government as the CEO for the Shire of Shark Bay. (I was the first person in Western Australia to be appointed the Chief Executive Officer of a Local Government from private enterprise, which required Ministerial Approval ). My experience spans across many industries which means I can very quickly analyse new companies and make improvements to both their operations as well as their financial controls. My formal qualifications (3) include a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy), Graduate Diploma in Marketing and a Diploma in Technical Analysis. My experience and leadership skills come from managing companies with turnover in excess of $100 million and significant staff levels (450). My financial management skills are evidenced by the dramatic improvements I have made to the companies. I have also won awards for excellence in budgeting and financial reporting from the Minister for Local Government during the 3 years I was CEO for the Shire of Shark Bay WA and my management practices have been used as a bench mark for best practice. While the CEO for the Shire of Shark Bay, I was in constant communication with Government Ministers at both the State and Federal level. I also represented the Shire on several regional groups. The level of positions I have held, required executive level knowledge and experience in all aspects of corporate governance, risk and financial management, sales and marketing management. I have run strategic planning workshops and been a part of the strategic planning process in each of these positions.
