My journey to becoming a Financial Advisor began a little over five years ago when my father started to have health issues and I began helping him with his finances. At that time, I had been working for a Mutual Fund company for fifteen years and also held Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Finance, so I thought helping my father wouldn’t be a difficult task. I was wrong. To help my father, I had to research the unique rules concerning Medicare options, 401K Required Minimum Distributions, Pension Distributions, Social Security, and Taxes related to these items, and this research took quite a bit of time. Working through all of these items, I came to the following conclusion: if I had to spend a lot of time on my father’s finances, how would someone without a financial background get through all of this information? As a result, I determined I wanted to help others be prepared for, and enjoy, their retirement. Accordingly, I began looking for a company where I could get my Financial Advisor and Insurance licenses along with getting trained to help others with their finances. I settled on Wealth Design Group as a result of the people there and the “coaching” approach they use with their clients. This is the first job I have had where I work with individual clients, and I am really enjoying it. My interests include spending time with my family and playing soccer, golf, tennis, skiing, or any sport I can get my family/friends to play. I also enjoy watching sports. My favorite sport to watch is College Football, with my favorite teams being Notre Dame, Ohio State, and University of Houston. (I do have to admit, I am a little concerned about how the Transfer Portal and NIL are effecting the game.) Other sport team favorites are St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Houston Astros, Houston Dynamo, and Houston Texans./COMPLIANCE:2023-364/
