I am a Mexican attorney specialized in commercial and investment arbitration, international trade and public international law. Since 2023, I am the General Counsel for International Trade (Director General de Consultoría Jurídica de Comercio Internacional) at the Secretariat of Economy of Mexico (Secretaría de Economía), where I serve as the principal counsel for Mexico in international trade disputes and investment arbitrations, leading a team of 25 attorneys.I also provide counsel within the Ministry of Economy and to other government agencies about public international law, international trade law and dispute settlement. I also participate in free trade and bilateral investment treaties negotiations. Previously I practiced law in Mexico, in national and international law firms, in matters related to electricity, construction, oil & gas, telecommunications and sales and distribution contracts.I hold a law degree from the National University of Mexico (UNAM), an LLM in international commercial law from Paris-X Nanterre University (France) and an LLM in international law from University College London (Chevening Scholar/ UK).
