Managing team of engineers responsible for daily process improvement and troubleshooting across plant site. Responsibilities include process output and uptime, product quality, employee safety, and implementing improvements in the daily process.

Various roles through the plant including area manager, fire chief, manufacturing engineer, and process engineer. Through my experience here I gained experience with several chemical manufacturing processes. This included in depth knowledge as process engineer and area manager, as well as broad knowledge of the entire site as fire chief. Also gained leadership experience through various levels of responsibility.

Overall schedule attainment increased from 79% to 84%. • Managed Ecologo certification for plant. This is a “green” certification that involves demonstrated compliance in energy and waste management. Managing certification involved communication with third party certifiers, directing mill leadership on overall mill planning to stay in compliance, and improvement projects to reduce mill environmental impact. • Worked with and implemented other projects that drove overall mill efficiency and safety. This included a problem solving team for increasing paper machine tonnage at total of 10% and leading a time to improve information infrastructure. Show less

Worked with both departments to adjust specifications to meet finished product targets and maintain cost. • Optimized basis weight on economy towel grades. Ran trials to determine that a lower cost product would reduce overall performance, but would be more cost effective. • Worked on finished product converting lines to optimize finished product performance. This included matching converting lines to paper machines for grades that were produced on several machines, centerlining new rolled tissue machine, and optimizing napkin folder operating below specifications. • Brief rotation as a shift supervisor for the paper machine department. This work included daily process troubleshooting, daily cross departmental coordination, staffing management, and conflict resolution.
