I am an astronautical engineering undergraduate student at the University of Southern California, with research interests in spacecraft anomaly detection and aviation safety. At USC, I am an Air Force ROTC Cadet on a track to commission as a military officer. Within Air Force ROTC, I am a member of our public affairs team and write about detachment events for the newsletter.I am also a member of the USC Rocket Propulsion Lab (RPL) avionics team. I supported flight critical systems by operating RF-based distance measuring equipment to trilaterate the position of our rocket. I also assembled circuits on the flight computer, contributing to the success of Aftershock II, the highest and fastest travelling student-built rocket in the worldI am passionate about aviation, and hold my private pilot's license. This, and having worked at a small seaplane airline have given me a comprehensive view on the industry, and safety protocol from an operational perspective. In addition to this, I am a VFR pilot in the Civil Air Patrol. My interests have also led me to become a professional ski instructor and attain certification through Professional Ski Instructors of America. Over my six years of teaching skiing and in the process of attaining this certification, I have developed an instructional philosophy of giving students practical skills that make skiing easier, and therefore more enjoyable. I have also applied this concept successfully in other areas such as teaching music, or cybersecurity. I am fluent in English and Spanish. I have conversational proficiency in German.
