Beatroute Arts deliver a weekly program of community arts events to children, young people and adults in the north east of Glasgow. I joined their freelance team in early 2022 and now work on several strands of their weekly program delivering bespoke music sessions to several groups of clients including adults with learning difficulties and young people.I also worked for two years planning and delivering a full day program of music workshops to profoundly autistic children in St Kevin's (now St Martin's) primary in Sighthill, Glasgow.

Since 2017 I have planned and co-facilitated multiple week long gamelan and music technology projects for adults with learning difficulties in Glasgow for award winning UK wide charity Good Vibrations.As GV’s work was brought to a halt during the pandemic I also wrote and produced several videos and podcasts about music for them – including this 30 minute podcast about community art – https://soundcloud.com/goodvibrations-org/community-art

I co run and facilitate the "Annette Street Drummers" project in this unique inner city primary school in Govanhill in Glasgow. We run a weekly after-school samba drumming project for P5-7 children. The project has previously received funding from Creative Scotland's YMI strand. I have devised and delivered multiple projects for reknowned community arts organisation Artlink Central since 2013 involving music, visual arts, animation and film making.Projects include:– NHS Programme Artists – 2017 and ongoing, coordinating and planning a program to deliver weekly visual art and music workshops in multiple community hospital settings across Stirlingshire.– Craighalbert Centre – devising and delivering weekly art and music workshops for children with profound motor impairments at this unique school in Cumbernauld 2022-2023.– Creative Bytes – a series of online recycled art projects made for service users during the pandemic: https://vimeo.com/creativebytes2020– Stirling schools transition projects (five separate projects in three years, including two years running working with children with profound learning difficulties at Ochil House ASN unit in Wallace High School, Stirling with dance artist Saffy Setohy.)

As part of the freelance team of musicians since 2006, I have delivered numerous workshops for Common Wheel working in a range of inpatient and outpatient wards including dementia wards and IPCU (Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit).Alongside these workshops I was also instrumental in setting up a partnership project with pioneering NHS early intervention service ESTEEM to deliver a series of drop in band workshops for young people with profound mental health conditions. Having been initially funded by YMI, the project was then granted funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. During the pandemic this strand shifted to being an online resource and in late 2021 returned to face to face activities.
