Alan McSherry is Managing Director of Cameron Land, a UK real estate business. A chartered surveyor with over 30 years experience in the UK property market he has had a varied client-side career specialising in property investment, development and corporate advisory.An experienced and capable real estate professional with a proven and consistent track record at senior level Alan has a unique breadth of experience across a multitude of commercial sectors with a recognised expertise in all areas of industrial from remodelling and redeveloping first generation industrial parks through to, self storage, road side and most recently data centres. A wholly owned subsidiary of London and Edinburgh Trust prior to being acquired by the Swedish insurance group, SPP. Established to acquire, from the UK government, the Scottish Development Agency portfolio and in doing so became the largest private sector owner of industrial property in Scotland. Subsequently responsible for the Group’s £125m UK industrial assets, including the Washington New Town portfolio. Company sold to MEPC plc September 1996.

Part of small team charged with taking forward the £150m Buchanan Centre in Glasgow (a retail shopping centre in partnership with Bredero Properties plc/Slough Estates). Expanded the company’s property development programme in Scotland and North of England and as a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated British Ports plc asset managing the none operational port holdings.

Responsible UK wide for initiating new and managing existing commercial developments , lease negotiations , partnership arrangements , planning matters including appeal procedures.

Responsible for running the firm’s industrial agency desk in Glasgow and latterly given the opportunity to set up the retail department covering Scotland bringing with it short periods of secondment to the firm’s London office. Duties involved acquisition and disposal of property, valuations and rent reviews.
