My role as Senior Adviser is to help secure, deliver and project manage work for SWM on behalf of a range of clients and our members. I also lead SWM's climate change adaptation work, supporting, advising and co-developing strategies, tools and guides for a range of organisations on this topic.

Sustainability West Midlands is the sustainability adviser for the leaders of the West Midlands. My main roles are the following:(1) To manage networks for SWM that aim to achieve our vision. I currently coordinate the following networks:- WM Climate Resilience Network- WM Public Sector Sustainability & Energy Network- WM Green Communities Network- WM Sustainablity and Education Network- WM Sustainability and Public Health Network- WM NHS Sustainability NetworkAlong with setting up and managing these networks, my role is to facilitate and chair workshops for their members, encourage best practice sharing and broker partnerships to help organisations develop projects more efficiently. In line with SWM's priorities, themes of the workshops I facilitate include sustainable transport, renewable energy, community resilience and green infrastructure. The Innovation Alliance for the West Midlands (IAWM) is a network of public, private and university stakeholders working together to stimulate and promote science and technology driven innovation for business growth and improved quality of life the West Midlands. It's objectives are to:1) Build a thriving innovation ecosystem2) Catalyse collaborative innovation activity across the West MidlandsMy role is to manage the low carbon aspect of the IAWM, by running the cross-sector Innovative Low Carbon Working Group, allowing people to make connections across the low carbon sector and facilitate and catalyse low carbon, innovation-based projects. My main role was to help Staffordshire's communities deal with severe weather and ensure our services are prepared for increasing weather extremes, along with developing a climate change adaptation plan for the council's services. I also project managed a community resilience scheme, allowing local residents to become more prepared for a changing climate. I also worked in the field of energy efficiency with the aim of reducing energy bills and providing advice on this to residents and helping them where possible to alleviate fuel poverty. I produced the latest version of Green Shoots, the county council's corporate carbon reduction strategy. I wrote a report that detailed how Stoke was likely to be affected by extreme weather in future and suggested how the council may be able to deal with this.
