Responsible for the development and production of platforms including LAN, Global WAN, Telecoms and Data Centre for all EMEA locations covering approximately 3500 associates over 35 sites. Also responsible for EMEA Infrastructure team leadership plus non-dedicated Infrastructure staff at most sales and warehouse operations who report through a matrix management structure. This includes managing cultural differences and employment laws in each country.Selected by the CIO to go though a development program as a future CIO candidate. Responsible for a budget of $10M while traveling through the EMEA region for 60%time, working with local teams and business leaders.

Instrumental in the design of, and migration to a standardised setup using Cisco routing/switching and Verizon MPLS WAN to replace inherited mix of technologies andvendors globally, to significantly reduce vendors, aged and high support-cost technology and to significantly lower costs whilst driving increased up-time metrics across the globe.Driving the design and full tender process of a new centralised global LAN, WAN, multiple data centres with dynamic failover for business continuity and telecoms. Full global responsibility to deploy the selected solutions during operational hours. Managed the relationship with Verizon for Internet gateways and security services, engineered and integrated with the MPLS provision. Deployed a single global VoIP solution, migrating from many local PBXs while introducing a single dial plan and global call routing.

Responsible for all Information Technology and teams across all business units reporting directly to the Managing Director. In addition to managing the in-house systems deployed, I was also responsible for developing and deploying solutions for external companies, including Compaq/HP, Vodafone, Orange and Microsoft. I developed and brought to market an IP PBX based around Asterisk which Hugh Symons sold as a commercial product. When one of the larger divisions of the Hugh Symons Group was acquired by BrightPoint I moved to the above role in BrightPoint.
