Doctor of Nursing Practice devoted to providing safe, holistic patient-centered care through interdisciplinary collaboration, interpersonal communication and evidence-based means. My past volunteer experiences have allowed me to serve a diverse array of staff and patient populations through effective teamwork, teaching and communication. But nursing school was a true catalyst in skills acquisition, enhancement and igniting my passion for helping others through healthcare. My journey in nursing began in the Generalist Entry Master's of Science in Nursing (GEM-MSN) program at Rush University Medical Center, where I was afford priceless opportunities to become adept at assessment of patient conditions to formulate diagnoses, development of care plans, implementation of evidence-based practices to improve care outcomes, and evaluation of outcomes for patient care plan revision. I was also able to become proficient at critical thinking, task delegation, integrating good judgement in decision-making as well as care prioritization based on patient conditions and diagnoses to optimize patient well-being. I have recently completed the PMHNP-DNP program at the University of San Francisco to advance these skill sets even further to specialize in the realm of psychiatric and mental health care within the role of a nurse practitioner. The field of nursing has afforded me the invaluable opportunity to enhance my skill set and most importantly, has given me an avenue for putting those skills toward making a difference in others' lives within the realm of health care. I look forward to such future opportunities and a position that would allow for just that; a chance to apply my knowledge and abilities toward safe, quality care of patients while fostering continuous professional growth.
