Investment program in education in Chad. The investment during that period was approximately $20 million in the areas of basic education, classroom construction, girls' education, teacher education, and community school support.

in addition to the above responsibilities for education, I was responsible for the management and maintenance of the office technology, and the Bank's satellite communications system in Chad.

I was recruited to the Bank in mid 1990, and during my initial months was a member of several education teams working in Zambia, Malawi, Mocambique, Namibia, and Tanzania on diverse areas including elements of primary secondary and teacher education.

Prior to Zimbabwe becoming independent in 1980, my research interests included the application of distance learning techniques to the training of teachers and the teaching of science using untrained classroom teachers. After independence, at the request of the new government, I became heavily involved in the expansion of science education and teacher.
