Saunders International were awarded the onsite SMP completion of the BP Jet Fuel fire suppression system at the now decommissioned BP refinery in Pinkenba, Brisbane. The package includes structural steel pipe support installation and 250NB and 300NB fire water and foam piping lines.In my role as Senior Project Engineer, my day to day duties included:• Compilation of work packs for distribution to crews.• QA checks on works completed in the field such as weld log tracking, flange management, painting and grouting.• Assisting supervisors with engineering support on the work front including onsite decision making. • Working with Permit Authority onsite to plan works and ensure the job tasks being completed on the Brownfields site are managed and executed safely.• Interaction with clients and the clients’ engineers in all matters engineering, including technical clarification of the project specifications and drawings. • Equipment and material selection and procurement not part of the free issue scope.• Interface with offsite suppliers, service providers and contractors to ensure smooth progression of works. • Procured material and certification reception, organizing, presenting and handover;• Assisting the project manager in pricing of various client issued site instructions that arise through the project.• Execution of approved Site instructions in the field.• Management of the technical query process and leasing with the client project team on a day to day basis in matters of procurement, free issue equipment reception and seeking engineering clarification on questions raised from the supervisors in the field.

WASCO Australia were awarded the onsite commissioning of a Gas Compressor that was fabricated and supplied from WASCO engineering workshop facility in Singapore. The package included an Ariel Compressor and an ABB electric drive. I was employed to manage and facilitate the close out of all the legacy MDR and QA documentation that was being experienced during the installation process.In my role as a Project Engineer, my day to day duties included:• Compilation of work packs for distribution to crews.• Assisting supervisors with engineering support on the work front including onsite decision making. • Interaction with clients and the clients’ engineers in all matters engineering, including technical clarification of the project specifications and drawings. • Equipment and material selection and procurement.• Material certification reception, organizing, presenting and handover;• Document control, reception and issue of piping isometrics to workshop for fabrication and welding,• Management of the commissioning mechanical crew as well as leasing with our electrical and controls contractor on a day to day basis.

As part of my role, my day to day duties currently include: • Generation and management of project schedule.• Human resource and project employment.• Interaction with client in all matters contractual and commercial on a daily basis.• Compilation of weekly reporting information for presentation to client on a weekly basis, including;a) Variation to project registers.b) Project schedule.c) Generation of manpower and resource planning schedule.d) Commercial standing of the project to date in conjunction with schedule.In my role as a project engineer, my day to day duties include:• Compilation of work packs for distribution to crews.• Assisting supervisors with engineering support on the work front including onsite decision making. • Interaction with client and the client engineers in all matters engineering, including technical clarification of the project specifications and drawings. • Equipment and material selection and procurement.• Project schedule tracking and updating for management.• Generation of testing quality assurance documentation, Field inspection check sheets, FIC’s and material dossier reports, MDR’s.EDE specialises in pipe spooling in a wide range of carbon, alloy and stainless steels, all in compliance to ASME B31.3. EDE manufactures pressure vessels to AS1210, shop built tanks to AS1692 and large site erected tanks of any size to API 650

During my employment with EDE and previously with Foynes Engineering, my main area of specialization would be with process piping. Initially with Foynes Engineering I was heavily involved with the final QA handover of works along with the hydro testing and final commissioning assistance, to the client. More recently, in particularly for Origin Energy’s WTF and BHP Billiton TDU project, my role has become more engineering and project management based, but as with all process piping works and the importance of QA and commissioning, I have always remained heavily involved in these areas.
