Alan has over 16 years’ experience as a structural engineer, working in a wide range of sectors across the UK including education, residential, commercial and heritage. Alan had led a range of new build and refurbishment projects from multi-million pound new-build developments to small scale residential and educational buildings. Alan leads Ramboll's Timber design with a specialism in cross laminated timber (CLT) construction worked on over 100 timber projects. He also leads the International Timber Network design group within Ramboll, which focuses on innovative ideas, research and knowledge sharing.He has developed Ramboll's in-house design programs for solid timber, Glulam, cross laminated timber and timber connections. These have enabled Ramboll to design a vast number of their timber projects and instrumental in Ramboll achieving the status as one of the top timber designers in the UK and Europe.
