I add value to organisations by influencing culture, leadership, governance and the overall strategic value proposition as principle generators of shareholder wealth.”Alan is a retirement village and residential aged care industry expert in New Zealand. His career in the sector commenced in 1998 with Private Life Care (PLC) where he was CEO from 2000 – 2007. Following on from PLC, Alan became the CEO of MiLife and established new villages in Palmerston North and New Plymouth. In 2009, he was appointed to the role of CEO at Metlifecare Limited (MET), one of the largest of the listed aged care & retirement businesses on the NZX. During his tenure the company market capitalisation increased from $210m to $1.1bn. Alan retired the role in April 2016 and established his private consultancy and governance business, Wyntonalan Limited.Over the past 20 years Alan has been involved in all facets of business with acquisitions, asset disposals, capital restructuring and capital raising. Alan has also been involved in greenfield and brownfield development of villages, including being integrally involved in resource and building consent processes as well as procurement of construction partners. His experience also includes onboarding new management teams and welcoming the first residents into new villages. The optimisation of mature villages and the establishment of a winning organisational culture is a passion.Finally, Alan has through diligent international research been able to remain at the forefront of what the next generation of retiree may want from the village of the future. He is committed to best practice in built form assets, philosophy, culture, and customer service.The biggest influencer; Peter Drucker who famously said; “Culture eats Strategy for Breakfast!”
