I’m Alan Espinosa, a recent graduate from UC San Diego with a major in Computer Engineering. Throughout my studies, I developed a strong skill set and passion for software. Software engineering is a creative and logical discipline, where I am able to build something that can positively impact others. Through various projects, both academic and personal, I’ve honed my skills in Java and Python, developing mobile apps and programs that have taught me the importance of efficient algorithms, data structures, and code optimization. Eager to learn more in the world of software, I’ve decided to pursue a masters degree in computer science. I am currently a first year graduate student at CSU Los Angeles. Beyond the academic side, I've joined professional organizations such as ACM(Association for Computer Machinery) and SHPE(Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers). As an active member at ACM, I participate in a mentorship program that has expanded my network and has allowed me to connect with software engineers in the industry. Also, I attend biweekly meetings that sharpen my skills in JavaScript and React. As an active member of SHPE, I attend weekly meetings that foster a community within the engineering department and work on my career development skills. I am excited to continue my academic endeavors and I am looking for a summer software engineering internship to collaborate with experienced engineers and develop innovative solutions.
