Under general supervision, operates a Distributed Control System (DCS) to monitor and control electric generating plant functions associated with power block systems and operations, including Control Board Operation to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous service. Job requires working knowledge of power plant operations and power block equipment and systems, sufficient to perform a variety of routine skilled craft tasks. Procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines are available, requiring judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate methods, techniques, and procedures to apply to specific cases. Solves routine or recurring problems and identifies and recommends solutions to more complex problems. Completed work is reviewed for technical accuracy and compliance with instructions or established procedures. Routine interaction with coworkers and individuals outside the work group is required to obtain, clarify, or provide facts or information. Performs all other work-related duties as assigned of similar or less skilled work. May be required to work a variety of non-standard hours required to operate and maintain fossil fuel generated electricity 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week.
