- Developing innovative assemblies for improved automotive applications. More info to follow! Or so I thought...Company financial issues has ended my short tenure there. I worked on some very interesting projects that could reap some long term benefits starting in the very near future.I had the opportunity to design some plastic injection enclosures for PCB controls for a mobile energy management system. Let's wish them the best of success.In the meantime, I am once again looking for permanent employment in the area of Cleveland, Ohio.

- As a Design Engineer, utilizing Autocad Mechanical, developed new designs of Guard Rail and Frog Assemblies for heavy duty railroad projects. Cleveland facility was losing revenue, so Corporate Office in Germany demanded cutback of personnel.

- As the Nesting Engineer, utilizing SigmaNest software for computerized nesting of customer product designs made of armor, Inconel, stainless, aluminum and steel plate for water-jet, laser and plasma cutting machines. Used Inventor 2018 to manipulate customer files for download to the nesting process. Business lost its' largest revenue customer of $2.5 million/yr so many layoffs occurred.

- As the contracted Manufacturing Engineer, participating in the tooling up for early 2019, release of a major automotive project for a duration of 5 years. Designing bend tooling and inspection fixtures for wire form machines. Development of inspection fixtures for stages of the manufacturing and assembly processes. Managing tooling requirements for all orbital and radial riveting assembly machines made by Orbitform, Baltec, VSI from the U.S. and Koki Shokoi from Japan.

- Working with hydraulics engineering, and using Solid Edge St8 & St9, developed 3d assembly models and complete drawing packages primarily for hydraulic applications throughout the tunnel boring machine design systems.- Promoted to International Manufacturing Specialist. Responsibilities included combining efforts with weld/fab department for rebuild and reassembly of critical drive components for customer owned Small Boring Units (SBU). Worked with production planners, coordinated efforts of routing creation and timing of new assembly weld and/or build. Working with North American and Canadian vendors to remedy manufacturing issues and non-conformities, continuous parts design improvements to decrease cost, improve profits and better facilitate manufacturing. Assisted QC with inspection of parts.- Position was eliminated due to company financial issues.

As a contracted engineer, used Solidworks 2014 and 2015 for development of new products, improve current product designs, as well as production tooling to improve cost efficiencies and reliability as required by manufacturing and/or R & D. Worked closely with Quality and Manufacturing personnel to develop and design a pressure induced test stand to perform product validations per the design inputs and product specs for a new product line of injection molded floor drains. Active participant of a designated Continuous R & D team, with the task of revamping a plumbing product line for newly constructed residential homes to further increase our market hold over our competitors.-Contract completed.

Worked with Sales Engineering and/or customers to develop custom hydraulic power units that sufficiently satisfied customer requirements for in-plant hydraulic powered systems. Developed CAD generated hydraulic power units for customer approval prior to fabrication. Kept our 3d library component continuously improved and up to date to assist in quicker turn around time of customer layouts.

Responsibilities included reverse engineering of diesel fuel injection components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies for large rigs, generators and locomotives. Also, designed special inspection gages, assembly fixtures, semi-automated hydraulic/pneumatic test and/or assembly equipment for in-house production use. Utilized Autocad Mechanical and Inventor from the design point of view. Accumulation of quantitative test data for statistical analysis and qualification of in-house production/test equipment.-Position eliminated due to company financial issues.

- Managed customer project to manufacture deck support components for the Gerald R. Ford, CVN78, Aircraft Carrier, achieving critical delivery dates for Newport News ship building port. Produced programs for Plasma/Oxyfuel CNC cutting torch, and when required, setup and operated manual lathes, mills and shears to expedite due dates.-Contract completed.

- Using Autocad, Release 14, designed and drafted special custom engineered machines per customer requirements for conveyor systems utilizing a variety of prep and assembly machines for the window (fenestration) industry. Machines included auto-feed Glass Washers, X-Y Transfer Conveyors, Overhead Conveyors and Heated Roller Presses.- Areas of responsibility included final job quality and performance, project cost and profitability, project timing, supervision of assembly, inspection and documentation of finished product. Development of accurate B.O.M.’s first using MAPICS and JobBoss as its system upgrade.- Developed detailed customer floor layouts to allow analysis of the proper equipment to maximize product flow per space.-Company downsized and sold.

- Using Autocad, Release 12, designed and drafted special custom engineered machines (either multi-station rotary, or standalone units) utilizing Orbitform Rotary Cold Form Riveting Heads. Customers included, Ford, Allied-Signal, Lear. - Areas of responsibility included final job quality and performance, project cost and profitability, project timing, supervision of assembly, documentation and coordination of customer training and completed machine runoff. At times, had to oversee product installation on customer premises to insure proper set-up and operation. - Moved to Cleveland.

Process Engineer- Responsible for processing and launching of new products into production and acquiring of new tooling and/or equipment. - Attendee of design review meetings with product and design engineers to better facilitate the production of new assemblies. - Implemented method improvements and cost reduction of assembly operations by working with vendors to design new and less labor-intensive processing machines to better prep hose ends for install and crimp of hose end fittings. - Directed skilled personnel in trouble shooting and collaborated with supervisors responsible for production. - Participating member of a concurrent product development team for the design and release of new products. - Team member of implementation of Kaizen/Cellular manufacturing of high psi hydraulic and fuel assemblies for commercial and military aircraft. Tool Designer- Prepared layout and detail drawings of qualification gages, production/test fixtures for assembly and proof testing. - One year of CAD experience on a VAX system using Applicon, Geometric Modeler and BravoDraft software system in working with process engineering in designing form tools, form drills, reamers and tool layouts for Acme and Greenlee screw machines.
