Enlisted in the Scots Guards 1989 and transferred to the Queens Own Highlanders 1998 and served with my Battalion overseas on operational and ceremonial duties. Left the Armed Forces to establish a career within Security/Risk Management. Over the last 25 years i have worked within a number of Retail Businesses learning my trade from grass routes upwards in all aspects of Loss Prevention/Security/Risk Management and Profit Protection, (previous companies)- Sabrewatch Security -(Manned Guard - M&S Glasgow)- Marks & Spencer (Loss Prevention)- TK Maxx (Loss Prevention Associate)- Matalan (Divisional Security Manager)- Poundstretcher (Regional Security Manager)- NCP (Profit Protection Manager)- Royal Doulton (Retail Division Loss Prevention Mgr)- TJ Hughes (Head of Profit Protection)- Poundstretcher (Head of Business Risk)I joined Claire's Accessories as Head of Loss Prevention-Europe in 2012. Since joining the business I have implemented a positive LP culture around the needs of the business. With a focused strategy around stock control, theft prevention and raising awareness of profit protection. From joining the business to present day I have reduced the shrinkage over 55% achieving my set targets yearly and continue to stabilise losses by continuous improvement and awareness.In 2018 I took over responsibility for Global Loss Prevention and supported +22,000 stores and concessions through North America and Europe, managing teams both in NA and EU to achieve shrink reduction, asset protection and security, a role that i supported over 3 years. From April 2022 I decided to focus my attention on the European markets and stood down from the global role as the business grows rapidly opening new stores and concessions throught Europe.I am focused and dedicated to the role I do and especially in being able to support people in achieving their goals as I have mine. Since leaving the armed forces and starting life as a Uniformed Security Guard in Marks & Spencer many years ago. I can take personal satisfaction that i have continued to develop and push myself professionally which is reflected in the position I now hold. I have two daughters and enjoy being a Dad, my goals in life is to be the best Dad i can be, a leader and inspiration to my team and colleagues and be a success in both my personal and professional life
