The Hub promotes the rights and inclusion of marginalized and under-represented populations in the development process. The Hub supports integrating Indigenous Peoples, persons with disabilities, LGBTQI+ persons, racial and ethnic minorities, youth and children in adversity, mental health, rehabilitation, and assistive health technologies into USAID programs.

This involved developing internal and external communications strategies, writing and editing technical and marketing materials, and strengthening clients' outreach to stakeholder organizations and U.S. government agencies.

Managed the Center's strategic communications portfolio, including development and implementation of general and country-specific strategic communications plans, website content development and social media, outreach management, event planning, marketing and technical material preparation and dissemination, knowledge management activities, and communications training and mentoring of Center staff.

Provided communications contract support to the institute’s Public Affairs Team in the Director’s Office. Managed the team’s communication with Outreach Liaisons throughout FSI, conducted public affairs information sessions for institute staff, supported exhibits for professional events, updated and managed the Public Affairs SharePoint site, and prepared and edited technical and marketing materials.

Developed and implemented internal and external strategic communications plans for the Department’s Office of Inspector General Investigation Services, and reviewed and edited other technical materials, including policy manuals, news briefs, and reports. Developed time-phased and metrics-based mechanism to monitor and manage communications activities. Separately, conducted lecture on strategic communications for foreign attorneys attending International Law Institute seminar.

Managed communications team in USAID's Africa Ebola Unit (as a contractor) in development and execution of strategic communications and outreach plans, and development and dissemination of print and web-based communications materials. Visited Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea in West Africa in November 2015 to investigate and document USAID-supported Ebola recovery and preparedness programs in those countries.

Provided communications counsel to several internationally- and domestically-focused public health, economic development, and legal and human rights organizations, including Management Sciences for Health, Health HIV, LDI Africa, and International Law Institute. This assistance helped clients to secure funding, expand business partnerships, heighten their professional profile, and achieve their policy objectives. Provided communications assistance on a supply chain management project for Ambit client the Department of Veterans Affairs. Researched and wrote articles for a bimonthly supply chain newsletter; and provided content for and edited other project materials, including a communication gap analysis and proposed Supply Chain Management website. Also co-wrote and managed production of a draft Ambit style guide.

Managed the production of technical and marketing materials that spanned DevTech's areas of expertise in the international development field, including gender, education, and economics. These materials included success stories, reports, and newsletters. Directed efforts to strengthen communication within DevTech. Also wrote and submitted articles about DevTech-managed projects to a leading national education newsletter.

Edited technical materials on international development issues such as education, food security, gender, and public health. Provided communications training in Kampala, Uganda to 20 project staff on document writing, editing, designing, and dissemination to strengthen their development of program materials.

Wrote and edited technical and marketing materials issued by Altarum client the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury. These materials included brochures, reports, and presentations. Also wrote a reserach paper on military suicide postvention for submission to a national medical journal.

Managed the production of technical and marketing materials showcasing best practices, successes, and lessons learned in global Foundation-supported public health programs. Provided communications guidance to Foundation foreign country offices, directed knowledge management projects aimed at facilitating staff access to technical information, and developed a document development strategic plan for the Foundation. Also conducted reviews of national public health programs in Cote d'Ivoire and Malawi to determine if they were meeting their strategic goals.

Led production of technical and marketing public health materials, including articles, web-based success stories, and talking points; and edited country program reports and SOPs. Provided communications assistance to FHI foreign country offices. Supported partnership development and advocacy efforts aimed at securing U.S. government public health funding. Also conducted research in several southern African countries and contributed to a toolkit for community organizations on ways to effectively address the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Managed and secured funding for a project to mitigate conflict and build communication and collaboration among leading U.S.-based organizations engaged in the global fight against HIV/AIDS. Focused on such key issues as women's access to health care services, harm reduction policies, food security, and accessibility and affordability of ARVs.

Directed communications activities at the Southern Africa Global Competitiveness Hub in Gaborone, Botswana. Developed web-based materials explaining the role of the trade hub and of the U.S. AGOA trade preference program in reducing poverty among vulnerable populations and increasing the economic competitiveness of southern African countries. Also spoke before community organizations and university audiences about the benefits provided by the trade hub and AGOA, was a member of a team at the trade hub that forged public-private partnerships in the region, and helped plan trade show exhibits.
