I am a consulting actuary in Milliman's Dublin office. I joined the firm in 2006.I has worked with a number of Milliman clients, including both domestic and cross-border life insurers and reinsurers, often on a secondment basis. My projects have included the design, development, and review of numerous financial projection models in Prophet, MoSes, and Excel/VBA. In my 25+ years in the Life Insurance industry Alan has been involved in numerous transitions between regulatory, accounting and reporting standards: Solvency I and II, Traditional and Market Consistent Embedded Values, US GAAP, and Irish GAAP, and IFRS 17. This has enabled me to develop an understanding of the practical challenges involved in calculating and explaining results under new methodologies and with new systems.
