Alan Graveson was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He earned his Master of Arts Degree (English) from the University of British Columbia. Over a period of several years, Alan attended the University of Laval in a French Immersion program. During this period he also attended McGill University for his Education Degree before returning to British Columbia to teach at Meadowridge School where he has been for the past 25 years as a teacher, administrator, and college counsellor. He enjoys immensely working with young people as they discover the many opportunities they have to pursue education, career, and life goals. He and his wife, Marlene, have also had three wonderful teaching abroad opportunities: London, England (1995), Brisbane, Australia (2,000), and Shanghai, China (2014). Alan, Marlene, and their two daughters enjoy adventure vacations, many of which include a back pack, a rugged trail, and dehydrated food. However, they are equally enthralled by a St. Croix Jump-Up, a Parisian Art Gallery, or a Yukon Music Festival. In so many ways, every day is a new adventure.
