I found a passion for recruitment by accident really!!!!! I wasn't searching for it and was quite happy in my previous jobs, all of which at management level included some form of recruitment. When searching through the hundreds of applicants in response to a job posting I found that I had an 'eye' for noticing a good CV amongst the many average ones. I always found the term 'finding a needle in a haystack' perfectly describes the task of finding that special applicant when faced with hundreds if not thousands of other applicants. Having turned to recruitment/job agencies in the past couple of years to help ease the pressure of internal recruiting I was always left frustrated by the level of service and quality of applicant that was being sent to me. I would call our agent and ask for an applicant with X and Y skills and they would say, sure I have the exact person for you but the person who arrived was not what I was hoping for. After countless episodes of this I decided to open my own recruitment agency and tailor it with the service that I was hoping to receive from other companies but never did.
