With 34 years experience gaining a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of Museum management and curatorial work, from best standard curatorial practices and exhibition development to managing a team of more than 25 people of diverse disciplines in a Natural History environment. Planned and developed numerous strategic and developmental policies for storage, security and conservation of Museum collections. Has participated in consultancy for new museums and galleries in Canada, China and Singapore and has wide experience of the work of major world Natural History collections worldwide including The Smithsonian, The American Museum of Natural History and Musee d’Histoire Naturelle Paris. Highly networked and established in all areas of Natural History, from mineralogy and gemmology to palaeontology and meteoritics and a leading figure in the private and public sectors of gemology, mineralogy and associated industries. Has curated and developed collaborative high impact exhibits such as “Diamonds” in 2005 and “The Vault” in 2009. Strongly engaged with media and public outreach and undertaken numerous outreach activities in the field of geosciences.
