Alan Hoffman is the Managing Partner of Janover LLC’s New York City office, a driving force on the firm’s team of real estate experts and a member of its Executive Committee. As a tax and business advisor to companies, professionals and individuals for more than 35 years, Alan has successfully addressed a wide range of challenging issues across multiple industries. Clients benefit from his time-tested ability to help them reduce or defer income tax and estate tax liability, increase profitability, finance acquisitions, structure deals and refinance debt. Additionally, he works closely with high net worth individuals to monitor their portfolios and offer expert accounting advice as well as tax, estate planning and other guidance.Alan specializes in real estate transactions of all kinds, including those that involve development and construction, rental operations, sales or exchanges, management and brokerage. He advises real estate professionals on issues related to residential real estate, office and industrial buildings, shopping centers and vacant land held for investment and/or development.Licensed in New York and Florida, Alan has been active with the Real Estate Committee of the New York State Society of CPAs for more than 20 years and has served as Committee Chairman. He is also the past Chairman of the Foundation for Accounting Education’s Annual Real Estate Conference, a position he held for more than 10 years, and he is a former member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Real Estate Committee. He has taught real estate accounting at the New York University School of Continuing Education, given lectures on accounting and tax matters and helped author the Common Interest Realty Associates Guide issued by the AICPA.
