I am currently working as a class 1 bulk tipper driver, but throughout my time working as a LGV driver, other roles have involved trunking, store deliveries and general haulage tramping. I have had various careers which proves I can learn new skills, train and adapt to different roles easily.Having trained as a DVSA Motorbike Riding Instructor, I established West Yorkshire Motorbike Training Ltd. which provided rider training at motorbike training schools in the West Yorkshire area. This role also involved marketing the business on social media channels, managing company accounts, invoicing and scheduling.I bought an olive and almond farm in Catalonia, Spain in 2015. Seeing the potential for a new business, the property was developed into a rural holiday retreat. I managed to obtain a tourism licence for one of the houses on the property, created a website and online social media presence, and advertised the property on all the major holiday booking sites including Booking.com and AirBnB. Running the business involved managing bookings, cleaning and maintaining the property, registering guests with the police, account keeping and paying the required tourist tax. I also networked with other businesses in the area so my guests could enjoy activities in the area.Whilst working in Spain managing the holiday rental business, I established Spanish Motorbike Tours to provide bespoke motorbike tours of Spain which included training novice riders on how to ride off-road, and guiding groups of riders around the Iberian peninsula. This also increased bookings for the holiday accommodation business.With bases in both the UK and Spain, I noticed there was another opportunity for another business, so I established European Van Courier Ltd., which transported goods throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. This required me to create a website and social media accounts for the business in order to advertise and promote the service it provided. I had to manage the consignments to maximise the space available, arrange collection and delivery times, route planning and the necessary paperwork for transporting goods to and from mainland Europe. I also maintained the company accounts, invoiced customers and scheduled vehicle maintainance. The customer base included both businesses and private individuals, and included transporting high value and sensitive or delicate loads to a strict timetable. I have excellent IT skills, having also worked for a Sun Microsystems reseller, providing tailored PC based networked training systems throughout the UK.
