Fibre Optic Engineer

April 2015. In October 2015 I was promoted again to Network Services Regional Manager. Responsible for the network building of fibre optic networks (Fibre to the Home (FTTH)) within the rural communities of Oxfordshire. Duties include fibre splicing, joint enclosure building using various types of joints such as Hellermanntyton, testing networks using Optical Time Domain Reflector meters (OTDR), fault finding. It is important to find a resolution to problems when cables are mislabelled, incorrectly used and laid incorrectly.Submitting daily and weekly reports. Creation and updating of network workbooks. Attending meetings and conference calls with colleagues, managers and clients (Gigaclear).Creating Risk Assessments for site safety, and ensuring that my staff understand and comply with health and safety regulations.I am the manager of a team of up to 10 people at a time. I am responsible for ordering of supplies and equipment required by my Engineers. I collate and submit the timesheets from my staff to the HR department of the company.; 19 ½ years loyal service to HM Forces (ARMY) serving across the UK, Europe and worldwide. This included running of a Logistics stores section within a large Regiment. I was responsible for the accounting of accounts for over £100,000, for over 1000 personnel and the management of a team of 10 people. I maintained a good working relationship with suppliers' company management and provided high standards and advanced knowledge for ordering clothing and equipment for customers, also prepared documentation for various logistic inspections with high pass rates achieved.
