Assists in the observation, planning, interventions, and evaluation of care to patients within the area assignment pursuant to the policies and procedures of PrairieCare. Ensure safety of patients and staff by constantly monitoring the milieu for potential safety hazards and report issues appropriately. Ensures safety through metal detection and belongings search. Responsible for creating an environment that provides the best care and the best patient experience. Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and use verbal de-escalation as needed. Keep the unit organized by notifying the correct individual when supplies are low and stock the supplies. Staff sanitizes program utensils, toys and other containers / materials as needed. Monitor the unit to ensure tidiness and cleanliness. Perform clerical functions as directed. Oriented and educated in gender, cultural differences, and in age appropriate care for the assigned unit. Responsible for facilitating goals and activity groups. Worked under the direct supervision of the RN and Lead Tech.
