Served as senior Customs and Border Protection (CBP) representative in Canada, and Commissioner's representative on all CBP engagement with Canada. Responsible for coordinating and integrating programs that screen cargo, conveyances and people who seek entry and served as liaison with Canadian officials by providing technical assistance, fostering secure trade practices and strengthening border authority principles.  Further I served as advisor to the Chief of Mission on CBP engagement with, and in Canada.

Associate Chief Patrol Agent assigned to Border Patrol Headquarters, Washington, D.C., with executive level operational, binational and administrative border security experience. I served as Director of the Canada Integrated Planning and Coordination Cell, and played a critical role in the Development of the Perimeter Vision, Beyond the Border Vision and Action Plan. Prior to that I served as Branch Chief of the Border Patrol Facilities Branch, with responsibility for coordinating the construction and maintenance of large Border Patrol offices and support buildings.

Served in many roles within the Border Patrol, beginning as a Patrol Agent in 1984. Worked in both Texas and Montana. Was the Patrol Agent in Charge of three different Border Patrol Stations, the last being a large operation staffed with over 100 officers. Also served as an Assistant Chief Patrol Agent in Del Rio, Texas, responsible for oversight of administrative programs to include Human Resources, Fleet, Budget, and Prosecutions.
